mini notebooks :: NB-series

I found that some others had this problem with another type of laptop.  The one I have is a Mini-notebook, NB505-N500Bl, and when i turn it on, the power light comes on, then i hear the fan for about 2 seconds, then nothing, and there is nothing on the screen.  I have tried everyting.  Anyone else have this problem with this product, and if so, any advise?

Does the light stay on, or does it go back off?  Have you tried reseating the RAM by any chance?

I have the same problem and i just bought the netbook a week ago. A couple of days ago the netbook stays frozen and the screen turns like a broken window with alot of colors.

It should be returned immediately to wherever you bought it!

Falcomerc, I had a similar issue with my first Asus netbook.  Every time it happened, they had me reload the BIOS, but it never fixed it.  It just temporarily went away, then came back.  They ended up letting me return it.

I agree... since it is new and probably still in warranty, take it back!

I am having a similar problem with my son's NB505.  At startup, all the lights come on - drive light intermittantly - and stay on. The fan runs for a few seconds and the startup noise sounds. Then there is nothing - a lit but blank screen that will not respond to any keystrokes at all (not even booting in safe mode.) I tried resaeting the RAM (before I did, the drive light was not coming on.)

Other than sending it back - we live remote and it is a huge hassle and a huge expense - what else can be done?
