I am going through issues getting Service Pack 3 to install on my Vista Home Premium X86- based PC due to Windows Update errors 80070002 and 80070020. A Microsoft tech guided me through the month of October, 2008 getting Service Pack 2 installed. I have tried multiple times performing the troubleshooting instructions, updating the BIOS, up to manually installing the System Update Readiness Tool, to eventually end up with update failure. We ran the update troubleshooter ‘Fix it’ to see if that would fix the problem. What else could be the issue and is it common?

If you reply, please tell us more.
Exactly what is it you are trying to install?
Which computer do you have? There is a label on the bottom.

That's what in my Windows Update history. You would think it would only send applicable updates to me. I guess I'll have to wait for a version that applies to Vista. I have a Satellite P105-S6207.

Oh duh, I might see what you mean. 2007 Office, not Vista, Service Pack 3 update.
If that's the case, shame on me for being clueless.
Thanks for your help.
