Toshiba C875-S7303 mouse problem with Windows 8

Using Windows 8 all day with my new computer and then the mouse froze.  I did the basic reboot and restarts to no avail.  When I figured out how to get to the control panel and to the mouse setting I found it had been changed to "other pointing device" not the "snaptics Touchpad V7.2" that it should be.  Easy switch, except every time I switched it back it defaults to the "other pointing device".  Any suggestions on what is wrong?

I would try reinstalling the driver, Tom.

sylfrmcoal, this is an old post.

What laptop do you have? Are you also having a problem with your touchpad? What menu?
