Re: Windows 7 recovery disk

Hello,

I think most Toshiba system came with what they called "hard drive partition". It means that in order for us to reinstall Windows is to hit a certain button on the computer instead of running a disc in the computer. Usually we just need a blank DVD( DVD-R recommended) to create our own recovery disc.

Here's how it works

To create your own recovery cd. Go to Start and on "Start Search" type recovery and click on Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator for Vista or Recovery Media Creator for Windows 7. Once software is running insert the blackn DVD and there will be a button to click on "Create DisC"

To run the Hard Drive Partition

There are two ways to do it

First, Turn off the computer and disconnect all USB devices and leave the AC adapter plugin

Before you turn on the computer HOLD DOWN "0" and while holding it down turn ON the computer

You can hear continous beep after 5secs let ge of "0" and a message will prompt asking you if you want to continue

If you dont have any important files just click "Yes"

then the next screen is very easy, ALWAYS SELECT THE FIRST OPTION ALL THE WAY THRU

after that "INITIALIZING PARTITION" will come up on the screen and there you' running the recovery thru HDD partition

Another way is thru Windows Advance Option

To ge to this, turn off the computer

As soon you press the power button / turn on the computer keep tapping on F8

Several option will come on the screen

Select 'repair your computer"

then hit on Next

Logon to your account

and select Toshiba recovery wizard

then the next screen is very easy, ALWAYS SELECT THE FIRST OPTION ALL THE WAY THRU

after that "INITIALIZING PARTITION" will come up on the screen and there you' running the recovery thru HDD partition

tired typing .... hehe

Re: Windows 7 recovery disk

They didn't include recovery disks with that system, and haven't done so for several years on most models.  You have to create a set of recovery disks from the hidden recovery partition by using the Recovery Disk Creator.  Go to "Start - All Programs - Toshiba - Recovery - Recovery Disk Creator".  Information on using the Hard Drive Based Recovery Process and creating the disks normally begins on or about page 58 to 60 of your User's Guide.  The User's Guide is found on your hard drive in Adobe Acrobat Format and can be downloaded from the Product Support Link at the top of this page.

If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.
