Web Camera for Windows 7

My computer Toshiba A505 S6960 came with Windows Vista.

After I did the upgrade to Windows 7, the Web camera doesn't record or work properly like it used to with Windows Vista.

Do I need to download a driver form the Toshiba site (I don't see one for the web camera and windows 7) or do I have to use the driver that came with the Windows Vista for the camera to work as it used to?

Please advise!

Re: Web Camera for Windows 7

Does the camera work in Skype? If so, the driver is probably fine & you may need to reinstall the software. (Chicony Camera Assistant Software for Portege model.... check Toshiba downloads for your model)

Problem that I'm having now is that the webcam software works fine, but only if & run by an administrator. If anyone knows a fix to this, I'm all ears!

Re: Web Camera for Windows 7

hi, i had this same problem. take a look at this thread:

you will need to download some software from toshiba's website (take a look at sanmartino's response). worked perfectly for me.
