Toshiba L305-S5946

After doing the Windows 7 upgrade, every time I reboot the laptop I get an error message after windows starts titled "Smoni" with the message "Failed to create empty document". Can't find anything about how to fix this or what Smoni is.

Something loading automatically makes that. To nail down the source, use clean-boot troubleshooting.

Run the System Configuration utility (msconfig.exe) and start by unchecking all the items on its Startup tab. Then reboot and see if the error message exists. If not, recheck half the items and reboot. Do that until you've identified the culprit.
