Blue Screen - Driver Power State Failure

My laptop does not shut down completely when powered off. I got a blue screen indicating that there was a Driver Power State Failure. I got someone to review the dump files from the last two failures. There seems to be an issue with my iastor driver (Version 8.9.2.1002). I've been trying to find an update to the drive, but can't find one in the support section on the site. Can someone help me out here?

P.S. My BIOS is INSYDE 1.70 , 09/15/2009; model number A500-ST5601; Part number PSAP0U-00S007

Have you installed Service Pack 2?

Please attach a relevant mini-dump file to your reply.

Re: Blue Screen - Driver Power State Failure

I'm not sure that I've installed service pack 2. Will check later today. I can't seem to get the dump uploaded onto this forum. Please download file from the first post in this discussion forum: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/83554-blue-screen-driver-power-state-failure.html

There seems to be an issue with my iastor driver (Version 8.9.2.1002).

I don't know why the disk driver is implicated. The results of the two mini-dump files from BlueScreenView are below. Those from Dumpchk.exe are attached.

It wouldn't hurt to try replacing the sound driver.

Re: Blue Screen - Driver Power State Failure

-I'm running Win 7 and all Microsoft updates are installed. Thinking about reverting to version 8.8 of the iaStor driver,  but I'll need to back up my files first.

Why didn't you say so?!

That machine comes with 64-bit Vista.

Re: Blue Screen - Driver Power State Failure

It came with Vista-64 and I upgraded to Win 7. Should I use the drivers that come with that version instead of using the relevant Windows 7 ones?
