I have a Toshiba P205-S6327 notebook with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit running on it. I have a built-in Webcam of 1.3 MP in it. Sometimes when i wanted to start a video chat. I got an error that there's no camera attached with my notebook. When i tried to open the Web Cam Utility. It showed me the Locked by another application error. Can anybody explain what is it and how i could get rid of this error message.
I have checked and seen the following information when i click at About button of my taskbar camera icon.
Awaiting for earliest answer from any of my friends.

It showed me the Locked by another application error.
Some have had luck on that one with Microsoft's hotfix for sleep.

Same thing happened to me on my Gateway presumably with the same camera.
Others noted that when they installed Messenger it locked. I took this tack and uninstalled everything I could think of until I came to VirtualDub.
Now, amongst movie makers VirtualDub is considered great although a GUI that takes some getting used to.
So I dumped my built webcam software and am sticking with VirtualDub. It works great.
