Every time is watch a video in fullscreen mode from a website or windows media player the computer will freeze after about 2-5 minutes.  The picture freezes and the sound makes a horrible screetching sound.  During this, I cannot use any of the keys and I have to hold the power button down to restart the comuter.  I have a GeForce 310M video card.  I know these computers are notorious for freezing.  Wish I knew that before i bought it.  Any advice?

At least it's not something that happens at random (as so many are). We will know when it's fixed.

Please follow these instructions carefully so we can learn more.

Note the computer-clock time of a freeze. Open Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc) and expand Windows Logs.

Inspect the System and the Application logs at that time for suspicious events.

Don't try to manually copy anything. Double-click the entry and then click the Copy button. That will put the event's details on your clipboard.

Paste that without editing into your reply (or attach it as a text file to your reply) - except we want only what is above the line Event Xml:.

I returned an A665 for doing the exact same thing. Thinking it was an error on that specific machine, I traded it for one of the same kind. Bad decision! It took a little longer but the new A665 does the exact same thing. My guess is they all do and I can't believe there is no apparent fix!
