I recently purchased the Toshiba 50L4363DG. I have a home server which is running a twonky media server where all my videos are. The problem is that the TV doenst play any of them due to 'the file format'. I tried all kind of different formats, none of them works even if it says in the discription that mkv, avi, ... is supported. Are these formats just supported by USB?
Is there an option to directly access the network drive via samba and get it to work?

I don't have information on that TV because it doesn't appear to be from Toshiba USA. You may want to contact Toshiba in your region.

this is independent on this specific model.
ALL SMART-TVs cant play AVI, mkv. etc from network. Its only possible from USB. The user guide tells it. (for aboved named device its on page 89)
DLNA certified is already possible, if the device can play mpeg2 video files...and this is possible..
This is not very smart. And no chance to fix it somehow.
For me it was the reason to give back the device...

You found the best soultion whihc was to take back the TV. It is incredibly frustrating to buy a TV only to find out it doesn't work as advertised.
