My Toshiba 32dt2u1 television that I got this past Christmas will not turn on at all. I press the power button and it nothing happens. The green power light at the corner will come on for a couple of seconds, then eventually just goes out. I have no sound, picture, or anything.
Can anyone please help me?

Try to unplug the set for atleast 30mins Id say, during which keep hitting the power button to drain the caps. If it still dosnt work, I dont know what else to suggest.

I have the exact same issue! Is there a number you can call in Canada, cause I called the Toshiba people and they were not helpful at all. He just gave me a phone number for a local repair shop and sent me on my way! I just bought the **bleep** thing last December!

thank you for reporting this and for the others who responded. I have similar model and purchased in same timeframe with exact same problem. Purchased in January, stopped working end of March. Looks like the great sale price that electronics expo had was to help toshiba move some defective merchandise. I hope the phone number that somebody reported will do the trick. as someone else said its disappointing, this was my first digital tv purchase.

All of you should click on the BBB logo at the bottom of this page and file a complaint....I did and Toshiba actually called me....didn't do what they should of, but they did help....complain, so they hear us.

I had the exact same issue with my 40FT2U tv. I tried calling Toshiba.
The first time: after the getting the run around and spending an hour on the phone, a rep said that he would email to schedule a time a technician could come fix it.
2 business days later, no email. I call again, spend 3 hours on the phone, get disconnected once, call back again, speak to too many people, repeat the serial number way too many times, and then finally get transferred to an automatic lady asking me if I have a problem with a laptop or tablet computer ....
So basically Toshiba's call center is absolutely useless and not helpful at all. Now I am trying to go through Best Buy to fix the TV even though my TV is under manufacturer's warranty. I haven't had it for even a whole year. I am definitely complaining to BBB. This is such a mess.

Oh... by the way...my tv is 47TL515U. I've turned it off, turned it on. I've unplugged it and took off everything that was attached to it (DVD,CABLES,HDMI cord, etc). I started hooking it back up from scratch and nada. I mean really Toshiba??? Come on!!!! You're suppose to hit the power button and a tv is "Suppose" to come on. None of this abbra-cadabbra stuff. I mean seriously...do the right thing. All of us can't be wrong. The cable don't work, the dvd don't have a picture...I got a black screen flickering..the remote don't respond/doesn't work. I can't re-set it to factory settings because you can't see nuthin! This is embarassing. I bragged so much about my new tv and now it's dead. I'm afraid to tell my friends because who would believe it?..Huh???? is what one friend said.
Never again Toshiba. I thought this was a good company and I saved a long time and worked over-time so I could buy it and now all I got is a $1300 hunk of junk. What am I, your customer. suppose to do now? I can't afford another tvand I can't afford to get it fixed. I think i want my money back. I KNOW I WANT MY MONEY BACK. Shame on y'all. I'm just sick at heart. I feel like i got ripped off. I'm completely embarassed.

hey there peter, I did call. (Read my first post). The rep told me it sounded like I needed a technician. He also told me to call back cause his computer was down. He gave me an email to contact and when I tried it said pretty much maintenance was being performed and to come back later. I do realize that electronics break but don't you think a tv should work more than 1 year. What exactly should I do Peter? I don't have any money to get it fixed. Did you see all the post with the same complaint? Exactly what should we do?

I'm sorry you had trouble with you contact support. That is the correct thing to do though; you may want to call again. Alternatively, you could contact an authorized service provider.
