I have a Tecra A6 EZ-6311 and am having a problem with the HDD. When I perform a disk-intensive process, such as a full virus scan or a backup to a Internet backup site, it runs fine for maybe a half-hour but then goes into a status where the disk activity light is a solid green but the process I'm running makes very little progress. It might be processing a small file -- doesn't seem to matter. While this is happening, anything I click on the desktop at or in another application takes up to ten minutes to respond. I checked 'downloads' for a new HDD driver, but I don't see one. Has anyone else seen this problem? Is there a system software update that addresses it? Is there a utility I can run to check the HDD for problems? Thanks for any help.
