I want to increase my memory with a 2M chip. I now have 2m, I assume 1M in top and bottom. Should I put the 2M chip in the bottom?

Which M9? What is the part number? Which country?

It doesn't matter where you insert the RAM modules, so long as the capacity of each adds to a size that the computer can handle.

Tecra M9  PTM91U  US Model . I replaced the bottom 1M with 2M and it seemed to take alright.

Does it really say My Toshiba (instead of Toshiba) there? On all models?

It's My Toshiba on mine.  I obviously can't speak for all. I have a My Toshiba listing AND a Toshiba listing. The My Toshiba folder includes 5 applications including the User's Guide. The Toshiba folder includes 6 folders which then include multiple sub-folders and applications.
