Hard drive makes clicking noise

Hi

I have a Tecra-M9 with hitachi hard(120GB)

I found that when the hard is idle it makes a clicking noise that is irritating.

I searched in internet and found that feature tool that hitachi created can solve this problem by decresing acoustic but it is not solved completly.

do anyone have any solution for it?

1.  Replace the drive with a different make or model of hard drive.  I understand the Seagate Momentus is supposed to be very quiet;

2.  Adjust power management to turn the drive off after minimal idle time, perhaps 3 minutes;

3.  Replace the hard drive with an SSD (very prohibitive cost) -

4.  Use earplugs.

Hi, Thanks alot for your kind consideration,

In internet many people said that using Feature tools can solve this problem!

I used it but the problem is exist yet,

there is not any software or anything else except 3 solution that you suggest exist?

I need another solution since I can not buy a new one or use the eayplug.

I work in a silent lap and need too concentration and no noise enviorment.

Regards,
