 RE: Tecra 500CDT w/Windows 98SE Upgrade

Hi,

Recently, this notebooks external stock #EME279TC
floppy drive has become intermittant! Replacing the
CD-ROM in the Select-bay with it still results in same
problem, where several loud audible head enables can
be heard, following this error trap:

A:\ IS NOT ACCESSIBLE
THE DEVICE IS NOT READY

The EME279TC floppy drive was swapped out and the same
faults were observed. Any comments or suggestions?

Plugging in the Toshiba Companion diskette yesterday DID
boot the 500CDT, BUT today it FAILED!

Hi,

The Toshiba Companion Diskette DID boot the Tecra on the first pass today, BUT failed on second pass.  Now that is what I call FLAKEY!  Suspect pickup head oxide film and/or static buildup, BIOS, marginal drive belt?

Please HELP?
