for the third time, thrive is asking for password I have no idea about

Dear Toshiba,

I have bought my Thrive from the frist week it was released in the US. Every thing was great for several months, However yesterday was the THIRD time it had the same problem, a VERY BIG PROBLEM. It starts like this : all the apps are force closing - lagging - the touch screen not responding normally, so I rebooted it. When it starts up it gives a black screen and asks for [ ENTER YOUR PASSWORD ]. I haven't used or set any password, and tried all the passwords I know, but all of them were wrong !

first time it had done that was in 29 Nov after TWO DAYS I applied the Android 3.1 update .I have searched over the web and found many users having the same problem, and the only solution they were talking about is FACTORY RESET. I have done that and lost all my data, but every thing become fine. then 3 weeks later it have done the same thing and I have done the samething again, factory reset.

Yesterday, after few days of applying the Android 3.2 update, it did the samething again.

This is really ruinning my life, all my data lost for no reseon !

I haven't done factory reset till now. waiting for help, this problem should over.

If you have reset your thrive and your still having problems. Then this might have to be fixed with a future update.

I've had a similar problem. I'm on my second factory restore right now in less than 1 1/2 weeks.

I too have this problem.  Browser and other apps reported "non responsive" shut down, restarted and now the little Android Dude is asking "Enter your password".  THERE IS NO PASSWORD!!

2nd time this has happened.

This has happened to me 7 times and this includes twice since March when it was supposed to be fixed by the repair center. I caledl support and was told it has to be sent in again for 'repairs'. My last experience with the repair center was poor to say the least. If I could I would request my money back and purchase another brand. I will not buy another Toshiba tablet.
