Frustration here. After ISC upgrade, browser crashes and freezes. I love some of the new features but browser issues are wearing me out. Please help or fix or something. I love my Thrive, it's a great unit, but really need a fix for this as it is happening with more frequency each day. Screen responses, like when I hit a button, are very slow also. Thanks.

You are so right!  The stock browser crashes constantly and so does the dolphin browser.  They are still usable but not reliable as before the upgrade to ics.  These browsers are also much slower after the upgrade!  Try the chrome browser.  I hsve found it to be more reliable and not crashing.  Good luck!

I've had ICS on my Sony since it came out and love it! My wife has a Thrive, so imaging how happy I was that she could have the awesome ICS as well....  Now, every 5 minutes I hear her cursing at the tablet because her browser just crashed - AGAIN. I'm honestly afraid she's going to throw it at me for my enthusiastic recommendation of "Yes, you want this upgrade!".

Toshiba guys - I'm in the doghouse now cause of this - please offer a fix for it soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having the same problems along with thrive not waking up. What's the best browser for thrive.

My Thrive 7 browser is now totally hung after this morning.  Updated to ICS and had some browser shut downs but would start OK but now it will not load any web site.  Cleared history and cache but still will not load a page.  Chrome which I installed after ICS update seems to be operating OK but have not transferred my favorites yet.  How do I get the Thrive browser unhung?

Ditto re.browser crashing more often then desired.  Only saving grace is that when I reload it, it returns me to my website at the time of crash.

Yes, I also have occassional unable to wake up syndrome when recharging and when in long sleeps....not always but should not happen.

Thrive 10 and Excite 7.7 owner....both stock (not rooted)

Does anyone have contact info for Toshiba that will help with our Thrive ICS upgrade issues? I've struck out so far.

I had the same. So far i have to stop "enable JavaScript" to avoid the crashes (go settings/advanced)

OK After leaving my Thrive off overnight the standard browser is now operating properly and has not crashed . Not sure about what changed but it seems to be much better.

Mine crashes too. It connects on my network for 15 seconds then cycles off and on until goes...stop!!!

Do I really need an I pad?

No, don't do it, Maxi!!! Do you really want a wimpy Apple tablet? :-) Besides, I pads have their issues too. Clearing cache and checking all my settings again seemed to help my Thrive. It's not crashing or freezing now. I deleted my modem and reinstalled it. Another thing that is relevant to this situation is to make sure your Thrive had the most recent Gingerbread version before installing ISC.

Toshiba is a company that I have always had confidence in but they should be more readily accessible for these issues. "Buggy" devices are one thing, lack of response from the company who makes the device is another. I am disappointed that Toshiba has not shown up to at least offer the potential for a fix. Hmm, I guess that's rather wimpy, too, isn't it.

Well, disregard everything I've said! My Thrive is glitchy again, worse in, fact. What a drag. Screen freezes, lack of touch response, browser crashes, no wifi, etc. Toshiba, send a fix! I've had my Thrive (10 inch, 32 GB), since March 2012, and it was purchased with the assurance that it could, and would, handle upgrades. I am not assured. At this point, I'm getting disgusted.

i feel we all are in the same boat.  toshiba in a hurry to get ICS out, but way too many bugs in the upgrade.  And the SAD PART IS THEY DON'T CARE.  my wife's thrive, is almost just a paperweight since the upgrade.  i have ICS on my Samsung, no isses.  WAKE UP TOSHIBA

I just looked all over the Toshiba website for a contact support email, but couldn't finda anything.  My Thrive is almost useless since this upgrade.  I even decided I didn't care if I lost everything and went back and did a factory reset and did lose everything, but it "factory reset" to ICS instead of the 3.1 that came with it so that was a huge waste of time.  I can't believe that Toshiba has such lousy support, but I will not buy another Toshiba product and I will advise all of my customers not to purchase them as well.  It's rediculous to release software this buggy and then not even do any kind of support for it.  I'm obviously not the only one having the issue.  Ironically, the only ones that seem to like ICS (did extensive searching) are the ones that rooted their Thrives and no longer can get support.

I just with I could go back to 3.2.  I absolutely loved it until this update and use it constantly.  Now I can't type, it crashes, the wi-fi runs about half speed, games are unusable because the animations freeze.  

There is a phone number listed for support.  I plan to call it tomorrow, but I'm guessing I'll just get a lot of hoops if what I've found so far is any indication.  I guess I can hope.

mine was better after turning off all "advanced settings for individual websites" (go settings/advanced/website settings).
now i can turn on javascrift without crash

i also chose "on demand" for plug-ins (go setting/advanced/enable plug-ins)

Same here since upgrading to ICS. Dolphin crashed as does Explorer. It runs at half speed, also. What a dissapointment. My tablet is almost useless it now runs so slow! Toshiba, you going to fix this?

READ MY INSTRUCTIONS, and see if you did what I did durning the update.
My Thrive runs VERY FAST and smooth,, and yes my stock browser crashed three times since the update was released in the states,, all three times, it was on FACEBOOK ONLY.

Heavy flash sites sometimes, and I do mean SOMETIMES load a tad bit slow, but the don't even crash.
I guess I'm one of few that don't seem to have a problem with the ICS update on the Thrive, I LOVE MY THRIVE.
It's not a toy, so I don't game much, but when I do, it works better than before the update,,, NO SCREEN LAG, NO STUDDERING or anything.

I actually got more browser crashes under HC and was happy to FINALLY get ICS.
Try any one of the steps I posted recently in the ICS update section on this forum,, hope that helps.

Same here. Doesn't matter what browser...native, Chrome, Opera, Dolphin...they all crash.

Seems most likely to crash when attempting to scroll down the page or when entering info on a form. Facebook seems especially tender.

I don't see a choice for advanced under settings. Also how do I change the browser?
