After ICS update, have lost audio playback. In settings, speaker has single line crossing thru it showing audio is muted. Can not unmute audio. Same for audio 'alerts'. Have rebooted and pulled battery to no avail. Ideas?

Never mind. In the time it took me to drive home from my office, it "fixed" itself. That spooks me.

I have the same problem but it has not come back. If anyone has info on how to correct this, please reply.

You need to press the + button twice. Now pressing once works for me once it is in mute. It used to take two consecutive + button presses.

It's been working ever since I figured out that you need to physically press the + volume button to take it off mute. Before that, I nearly broke the darn screen trying to tap every conceivable volume settings before that moment of epiphany on the + and - volume buttons. Luckily I applied the screen protector the first day I got the thrive and the screen has no crack issues whatsoever. *knock on wood*
