System Recovery and Recovery Media

i have a satellite A105-S4254. it did not come with recovery discs. i cannot figure out how to restore to factory settings. every other computer i have owned including the new one has this as an easily selectable utility option. i tried holding down zero during startup but all i got was beeps and then windows booted up.

If you held down the '0' above the letter p before and after turning it on but still did not get to the recovery partition,

most likely you bought this outside of Toshiba and was not provided with the Recovery and Application Disk (RACD) included in the package.

Even though it is usually a DVD it is called RACD :-p.

You can order your RACD from acclaim.toshiba.com,

click recovery media and provide your serial number and model part number which is both located on the same sticker on the bottom of the laptop.
RACD is for $24.95 anywhere in the 50 states of U.S.,
You will receive RACD within 10 business days,
RACD is for System Recovery, all data will be deleted and all factory SW and settings will be restored.

Thanks, i got it thru Best Buy back in 2007. My wife got a new laptop and i inherited this one.
