I'm trying to restore my Toshiba satellite L305-s5955 w/ vista back to factory default. It didn't come with a restore disk so i pressed 0 while powering up and it brings me to some pop up prompt that's got a black background and red typing that says "warning!" and talks about data being deleted and re-written Then asks me to chose yes orno to continue. Is this the right way to restore my computer back to the way it was when i bought it? or would this delete my OS too?   i've lost my manual so i don't know for sure?

That's the one. You will also be presented with the option to wipe the OS partition ONLY. Either way though, all the data on your OS (Windows) partition will be GONE, so beware. If you aren't worried about losing the data, just follow the default prompts and the machine will be put back to its factory state.
