System Recovery and Recovery Media

for some reason my system will not start up...and when I run startup repair..it has ran for almost an hr then tells me it cannot fix problem...soooo what do I do now?  Restore system to factory settings?..this is the details that startup repair gives me:

don't have any clue what that means.. I have a L455D-S5976 with windows 7 operating system.. any help would be very much apperciated..

Can you use F8 to reach the Windows Recovery Environment? See the section To open the System Recovery Options menu on your computer here..

   What are the system recovery options in Windows 7?

Best to turn the computer on and immediately press and hold the F8 key.
