Satellite L650

I would like to restore my satellite L650 to factory settings. Do I need to purchase the quick restore cd to do this? Or can it be done by holding down the zero key? I have already backed up and removed data music & photos.
Thanks

Re: Satellite L650

Always tell us which Satellite L650 you have. See the label on the bottom. Procedures can be somewhat different depending on the part-number family.

If this is a US computer, see the section Recovering the Internal Storage Drive, which begins on p. 59 of the User's Guide.

Satellite L650/0K5 (PSK1JA-0K5017)

Your downloads are here, Penelope.

You can indeed restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. And you can do it directly from a partition on the hard drive. See the section System Recovery, which begins on p. 1-13 of your (very extensive) User's Manual.

I recommend that you first create recovery disks from that partition in case something goes wrong.
