Laptop would not boot into Windows (Vista)(a *.sys file missing)
Toshiba Recovery Wizard after an hour Error 10-FC12-045D (4 attempts)
Toshiba tool FJDT_V690 cannot find the drive, suggests it is disconnected, but running this from a DOS Boot CD.
Another DOS based diag shows countless bad sectors and "Read Element" error.
Would like to find a DOS utility which would unhide the recovery partition then allow to create an Image file to DVD. Problem is it cannot be a utility which must install on the hard drive.
Ghost and Drive Image do not see this hidden partition (I believe it is Drive F
Have new drive, but don't want to wait for Tosh to send a Recovery Disk
If can't copy the recovery partition to install Vista on new drive then plan to install XP Pro. I found the Toshiba Drivers for Win XP sp2/sp3.
Will this Laptop/components work with XP Pro?
