Recovery Disks

When my HD had to be replaced, I used the Recovery Disks supplied with my unit...There were 5 in all, but it took only three of them to fully complete the recovery/restore process...Just out of curiosity, what are the remaining two disks for?

Re: Recovery Disks

I think one is the Drivers and Applications disk. This can be used to manually install any individual drivers and apps. The other is probably a WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment) disk. Possibly 64-bit? This can be used to repair a corrupt OS.

Re: Recovery Disks

OK...Thanks, I figured at least one of the other two had something to do with drivers, but since everything is running fine...I don't have to be too concerned about them right now...
