Hello, I am running into a bit of a problem trying to restore my Qosmio laptop to factory state. I read in several places to hold the 0 (zero) key down while powering on the computer. I tried it several times, sometimes up to at least 10 minutes of holding the button down. The screen remains blank for the duration of the button press, and when i finally lose hope and let go, it continues to boot to an unworking operating system (Windows XP, because I didnt have a 7 disk).

Maybe the optical drive doesn't work. Try another bootable disc to test it.

Maybe the BIOS isn't set to see that drive first. Boot with F12 to choose the boot order.

Maybe F8 works.
