How to create recovery media

I have a new Satellite A665 Notebook. I´d wish to create recovery discs to have in case my hard disk crashes.

But I do not know how to do it. I can't find any recovery utility to do the job.

Can you tell me how to fulfill this?

Thanks in advance.

Gabriel.

Gabriel, see the section Creating recovery DVDs/media, which begins on p. 70 of the User's Guide.

[ Edited ]

I used 4 DVD-R discs. They were on sale - 25 DYNEX discs for $7.

Go to: start/all programs/my toshiba/toshiba recovery media creator

Insert your 1st disc.

Select create and follow the prompts.

Label your discs with a disc marker - recovery disc 1,  recovery disc 2, etc. or whatever you'll remember.

store them into individual envelopes or shells and put them in a safe place.

BTW: If your hd "crashes" you'll need a new hd.

Re: How to create recovery media

eniac,

I would also add that you should say a little prayer prior to beginning the process as the application is notoriously faulty.  Which then calls into question as to whether the recovery disks will actually perform as desired if/when the time comes.

Just my $0.02.

If that's the case - How can you test it without doing a recovery?
