Why have I been banned from replying to thread?

Why have I been banned from replying to threads?

Is it because I dared to stand up to an arrogant member of this message board?

AlanApollo,

You have not been banned from replying to threads, but not all threads can be replied to.

We have, in the past, had a policy of moderators "locking" older threads so that no one can reply to them.  We've discontinued that practice based on member feedback leading to a conclusion that it was creating more member dissatisfaction than it was averting, but there are still locked thread out there which cannot be replied to.  My guess is that this is what you ran into when you found that you couldn't reply to a thread.  I can confirm this if you want to reply with a URL link to that thread.

Whether or older thread is locked or not, it is generally a best practice to create a new thread if an old thread has been inactive for an extended period.  However, there is no rule against replying to older threads.
