I want to keep my laptop from auto connecting to wifi on my modem. Everytime I turn it off/on, or wake it up, it connects wirelessly connects. I don't want this everytime I use it. It will even disconnect from the dsl cable and reconnect to wireless when I am using it.
I have tried to use the settings, and change it from automatically connect, but the setting never sticks, and reverts back to auto when I close the window. I uncheck the the boxes in the properties as well.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

We can't see your computer. This should work for non-DOS-based versions of Windows from 2000 forward.
Open Device Manager (devmgmt.msc), expand Network adapters, right-click the WiFi device, and click Disable.
If you want to discuss anything, give us your computer's complete model designation and the version of Windows.

Sorry about that.
I have a Satellite Pro L555, running Windows 7, 64 bit.
But I still did what you suggested. Will check to see if it works. At ho,e, I just perfer to use the DSL cable when I'm sitting right in front of the router.
Thanks for the info, as it's been driving me crazy for some time.
