Satellite C855D-5229 - Bluetooth mouse scroll problems

[ Edited ]

Toshiba Satellite C855D-5229

1. How do I verify and/or turn on Bluetooth?

2. Do I need a USB Bluetooth dongle?

Problem: Using a USB Bluetooth dongle, my mouse scrolls to the bottom of the page I am browsing whenever I simply move the mouse. The scroll wheel is unresponsive when I try to scroll up. I have tried disabling the Synaptice pointing device (touch pad) but this did not help.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. :smileysad:

Cheers!

Jim

No, Jim. According to the spec above, the Bluetooth hardware is built in. Get rid of the dongle and start over.

Maybe these help.

Hi Jerry,

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the C855D-5229 does NOT come with Bluetooth.  If you look closer at the spec sheet you sent, you will see that the adapter is an optional accessory.  I went ahead and picked one up for $30 so all is well.  Here's a link to the correct part:

Thanks again for the reply and info.  Have a good one.

Best regards,

Jim

Oops. Sorry, Jim. Must have gotten my threads tangled. That sometimes happens when an old guy has several spec pages open at the same time.

You seem to have everything under control now.
