Hello, I seem to have a problem where the audio would randomly stutter for like a second while watching videos or listening to .mp3 files. I'm using Realtek HD Audio and the sound drivers are up to date.

Actually, it just might be my laptop lagging for that split second.

I have this problem on my l645d-s4040.   I noticed in counter strike the only time this would happen is when there was an explosion or gunfire.. so on a hunch i disabled my sound card and drivers (actually uninstalled it all together).. went to play the game... and guess what?!?! SMOOTH SAILING!!!!  so i came here and reinstalled the sound stuff and played the game again.. and guess what?!?!?  IT FROZE/STUTTERED, BUZZED!!!   this was going on for months. i wiped my drive, reinstalled everything fresh.. same issues... i figured out the sound thing just last night.. at work now, so havent been able to try other things to fix this issue.
