My laptop is labeled A505-S6960 on the sticker on the bottom of the laptop. Part Number PSAP0u-007007 but when I try to use Toshiba Diagnostic tool I get these results;

When I use the Toshiba Service Station to update - I get a update for BIOS but when I try to install it tells me it's not for my laptop.
My brother bought this laptop new from Best Buy in Sept 2009 and has had nothing but problems with BSOD etc. Geek Squad re-installs Windows and restores at least 3 times. This has been done many times. My brother gave me the laptop in Sept 2010 because he was going to through it away. I called Toshiba to find out it was under warranty, they sent me a box, I shipped it in, they restored it back to out of the box, restoring Vista.....problems still existed.....I think the W7 upgrade and Norton Security Suite had conflicts also....I wiped the drive, installed a full version of W7, ditched Norton and installed Windows Security Essentials. Still get the BSOD, driver errors, etc. The motherboard has never been replaced.
1. Is it possible this laptop to have been labeled wrong and then sold as a A550 when it should of been a A300 something or another?
2. What is my next step?
