I have a Satellite A 665 and the system completed an upgrade yesterday and the keyboard back light is not on. How do I turn on the Keyboard back light?

See if there's a setting here.
Start > All Programs > TOSHIBA > Utilities > HWSetup > Illumination tab
If you have any other questions, tell us which Satellite A665 you have.

Thank you for your response. I followed the direction and there was not a tab for that. My computer is a 6A533060K Satellite A665.

Look for the part number here.

I followed the direction and there was not a tab for that.
On p. 164 of your User's Guide, there is a picture of the HWSetup window with an Illumination tab.

Are you sure it's missing?

Hi,
Does the A665-6100 laptop have keyboard back light, as I followed the instructions from the previous thread and there is no illumination tag.
Thanks.

Sloppy, Sammie. Maybe this one?
The spec doesn't mention a backlit keyboard.

I agree spec does not mention backlit keyboard, but can Toshiba confirm if this is the case, as it could be there but disabled in this model. hence its just a case of enabling the function.
Thanks

Toshiba does not answer questions like that in this forum, Sammie. We are users just like you.

I have the same problem--No Illumination Tax. I know I have keyboard back light because I see it from time to time. There is no Help on the HWSetup, so I can;t tell what version I have. I would guess the problem is that I need to upgrade this program so I can get the tab. What do I need to do.

Somebody else had the same issue as you an update zapped their backlight.
The Z key will have a pic of a keyboard on it if you have a BL keyboard.
Also check the BIOS settings in the power tab.
