Hard drive has bad sectors

I have an A505-S6033 with a Hitachi HTS545050B9A300 hard drive. When I try to run chkdsk it says it has bad sector or errors on the drive. I tell it to run a scheduled drive scan on start up and it never does it. I cannot figure out how to fix this. I have even reformatted the drive and reinstalled my OS. It fixes nothing. Hitachi has a download tool to scan the drive but it's not compatible with Windows 7 64-bit operating systems.

Can anybody help me with this problem?

Re: Hard drive has bad sectors

Replace the hard drive.  If the unit is under warranty, contact Toshiba and arrange to have it serviced.

When a hard drive begins showing bad sectors, it is best to replace it ASAP, or you risk losing all of the data on the drive.
