Fan Control?

HI.

Perhaps an old chestnut, this one. I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 Laptop which I use occasionally to record, cleanup and burn to CD, some old tapes and LPs. The Firewire audio interface I'm using suffers a real buzz every time the laptops fan starts and stops. I can get around this by putting a heavy load on the CPU, within the DAW software I'm using, which forces the fan always on.

But I'm wondering, is there no software available to allow me to specify that I want the fan always on?

Thanks.

I take it that's a 'no' then?

Re: Fan Control?

You might not have the necessary hardware for controlling your fan (some chip, I think).  Try a program called "SpeedFan" if you wanna find out if you can.

Thanks, I'll look into that.

So Toshiba haven't produced anything?

Re: Fan Control?

Me again.

I'm not sure if Speedfan is what I want - it seems that many people use it to decrease the fan use on their PCs - I want the fan on mine to be running all of the time. Before I try it, how I can tell if my laptop has the capability to ustilise it (i.e. the required hardware)?

Thanks.
