First I thought the pos had hardware failure because none of my bootable dvds and flash drive was working. Then, I remembered about secure boot (which is dumb to enable by default cos not everyone knows about it and would buy replacement hardware they dont need).... So I booted into bios, and sure enough it was enabled. So I disabled secure boot, and changed boot mode from UEIF to CSM which solved my boot fail problem.
So after I installed windows 7 64bit, there was 4 devices missing drivers according to device manager. Since most manufacturers support website has been helpful in the past when it comes to installing drivers I decided to try toshiba's support site first. it was not as user-friendly as the others. But I did manage to find 1 driver I needed on it. The other 3 I found on realtek and dell's driver support site after looking up device id using pcidatabase.
I saved them to google drive so next time it wont take so long, decided to share in case anyone else was having problems finding drivers for windows 7 64bit on a Satellite C855D-S5315
According to device manager, after I installed those 4 drivers, there was no more missing drivers.
hope this helps

no problem, glad to help when I can, windows 8 came pre-installed on the C855D-S5315 and cousin wanted windows 7... figured there might be more people out there who wanted to downgrade from 8 to 7 too but couldnt find the drivers so decided to share them since i was already saving them for myself on google drive
not sure if anyone even needed help finding win7 drivers for this laptop but it only took a second to post in case they do.
Also, after I posted this thread, I noticed screen saver wouldnt work because of poor video or something (forgot what the error msg said) so I decided to try an install a video card even though device manager did not list my video card as missing drivers.....
1. First I googled C855D-S5315, and looked up the graphic/video card model from the cnet page.
2. Then I googled "AMD Radeon HD 6310M" AND driver "windows 7" for the download link.
-- download page: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.p
-- download link: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mob
lenovo support page came up as first results so I just went with it. Despite device manager not saying my video card was missing drivers, I think it really was, cos after I installed this driver I was able to use screensaver again
I don't know if laptop is missing anymore drivers that device manager failed to list but I dont think it is

@ericabiagioni - sorry, i'm not sure what the problem is, you might have better luck if you try posting a new thread in the trouble shooting category of this forum.
From what I read, it sounds like hardware failure, but i'm not a PC Expert or anything. A few things I would try...
1. Make sure its plugged in to a working electrial outlet. My sister onced called me because she didn't know her computer was unplugged and wondered why it wasnt working
2. while plugged in, remove the battery, and try an use it. I've fixed 2 laptops that would not turn on just by removing the battery.
3. Try an use the computer with a Ubuntu Live CD/Flashdrive. If your harddrive is the problem, you can find out by using a live cd because it boots from a flash drive or cd instead of harddrive.
