Refurbishing an old A85-S1072 here. Windows XP, SP2. All Toshiba-provided drivers installed. When setting up the wireless network connection, I don't have the WPA2 encryption options. I have installed the Microsoft hot fix (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/security/
The AR5005G is supposed to be WPA2 capable (according to other posts on this board.) I believe the problem is that the Toshiba-provided drivers are very old (2001, I think). I believe there is an updated driver, version 220.127.116.11, that fixes this problem. However, I can't find a reliable source for it on the internet. I've downloaded it from a few generic driver sites, but each time the install dialog says something vendor specific, like 'IBM Thinkpad Atheros driver,' etc. I gave one a shot, but Windows no longer recognized the wireless adapter so I had to roll back.
Does Toshiba have a distribution of 18.104.22.168 or later of this driver? Thanks!
