TOSHIBA A665-06F Wireless Switch won't turn on!

Hello,

I have a TOSHIBA Satellite A665-06F. I am suddenly having a problem in turning on the Wireless Switch button, the one on top. I tried Fn+F8, and still ask me to switch the button on.

Any help with this please ?!

Thank you!

Yeah, I saw that switch.  Does not give me the option to turn on wi-fi.  Just tells me to turn it on.  Well, if I had THAT answer I wouldn't be here.  Anyone ever used Toshiba remote help?  Cause I don't know what else to do at this point.

Mine is Toshiba Satellite A665-S5173.

Try typing tbswireless.exe as suggested in other threads.

If this turns your wireless radio on or off, create a shortcut for it and skip using the hardware switch.

Thank you to everyone for your help & suggestions!

Here's what finally worked for me:

go to control panel add/remove programs

remove the toshiba value added package

then restart ccomputer and reinstall the toshiba value added pkg

restart computer again

THEN type in tbswireless into search bar

tbswireless is the name of the wireless icon

Hope this helps someone else out there!

Re: TOSHIBA A665-06F Wireless Switch won't turn on!

I used my Toshiba A665 at a location outside of my home today that didn't have a wireless network available (I was using it for a projector presentation). When I got home and booted it back up, it wouldn't connect to my wireless network, even though the wireless icon was lit up on my keyboard--it kept telling me to "turn on my wireless availability." I researched the issue and found a suggestion on this forum (different post) that worked perfectly: I booted my Toshiba in "safe mode with networking," and it gave me the same error message that my wireless was turned off. I ignored it, immediately rebooted it again into regular mode this time and voila!-the wireless connectivity resolved itself immediately. I was able to connect to my wireless network. I hope this helps someone else with this problem.

BTW, I've had this computer for several years and never had this problem before, even while using it outside the home for extended periods. However, today was the first time I used it all day without wirelessly connecting to the internet. I don't know if this had something to do with this issue or not.
