I am running 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium, Atheros AR9285 wifi card.
The laptop takes 20+ minutes to connect to networks where everyone else has internet the second they start their laptop. It will say it is connected, but internet doesn't work for 20+ minutes.
Also, once it does work, it drops out every once in a while, saying it is still connected, but no internet works.
Internet via LAN works perfect, but that defeats the purpose of a laptop.
What can I do?

Waiting for you to tell us which Satellite C655? Which part number? Which country?
What sort of networks are you dealing with? Public? Do you have a recent wireless router to experiment with?

TOSHIBA Satellite C655-S5049 PSC08U-02D01D
I am working with my university network, which works for everyone else completely fine, and the same goes for my network back at home (other computers have no problem, this one does).
I can't access the router here (it's a Cisco, can't get the model # as it's fastened to the wall), router at home is a Linksys E3000

I am having similar issues, I have a Satellite C655-S5132 with an Atheros AR9285 wireless card. I have installed the latest driver that I found from Toshiba. I know my wireless router in the house works because I have another laptop that accesses with ease each time. Someone, please advise.
