Can't connect to 5ghz band of netgear router

Have new P875-S7310.  It has a Centrino 2200n adapter.  It sees the 2.4ghz band but not the  5ghz band of Netgear WNDR3400, but will recognize my neighbors 5ghz router. Running Windows 8, 64 bit.

At the Start Screen, type "Device Manager" and press ENTER. In the Device Manager, expand "Network adapters." What's listed there?

Installed update, restarted, still no N band showing from my router.  Tried old laptop and it sees router N & G.  Still picking up neighbors N signal but not mine.

I would try a program like inSSIDer to scan all channels and make sure you are seeing the 5ghz band. According to the product brief, Intel Wireless N2200 is only a 2.4Ghz compatible card.

Re: Can't connect to 5ghz band of netgear router

Last reply gave me the hint I needed. Rechecked router and found it not broadcasting N on 2.4.  Made  adjustment, now have N signal. Thanks.
