touchpad scrolling

I have a new satellite L855. I can't you the touch pad to scroll down pages. Is there a programmable solution to solve this?

Windows 7

 

  1. Go to the Start menu and type "Mouse".
  2. Under the search returns above, select "Change mouse settings". The "Mouse Properties" box will appear.
  3. Select the "Device Settings" tab and click on the "Settings" button. The Properties Synaptics Touch Pad box will appear.
  4. Select "Scrolling" then select "One-Finger Scrolling".
  5. Ensure enable vertical and horizontal scrolling are both checked.
  6. To define the scroll area of the touch pad, click "Scrolling Region" under "One-Finger Scrolling".
  7.  Select the "Scroll Area" tab and select the area of the touch pad that responds to the scroll function.
  8. If scrolling still does not work, click here for addition troubleshooting.

 

Windows 8

  3. Select the "Advanced" tab and click on the "Advanced features settings" button. The "Advanced feature settings" box will appear.
  4. Select the "Touch Pad" tab.
  5. Under the "Touch Pad settings" area, ensure "Use Scroll function" is checked.
  6. To define the scroll area of the touchpad, click the "Settings" button. The "Touch pad settings" box will appear.
  7.  Select the "Scroll Area" tab and select the area of the touchpad that responds to the scroll function.
  8. If scrolling still does not work, click here for addition troubleshooting.
