Touchpad inop on Satellite A215-S7425

All of a sudden my touchpad on my Satellite A215-S7425 cannot be turned on with the Fn+F9 key.

All the other Fn keys seem to work properly. However, it used to be when I moved the mouse to the top of the screen, a 'phantom' screen showing all the F keys would show up. That no longer happens.

I've downloaded the driver package "driver_touchpad_synaptics_26583A" and installed it, but no change.

Help!

Satellite A215-S7425

According to its description, Larry, the following package of utilities includes...

Toshiba Common Modules as well as Power Saver, Accessibility, Fnesse, Toshiba Utilites, Toshiba Password Utility, Flash Cards, PC Diagnostic, Buttons Support

Toshiba Value Added Package for Windows Vista

Sometimes it helps to uninstall the utility and reboot before reinstalling it.

Good luck!

We don't know what you've tried until you tell us.

What else?

I tried the Toshiba Value package you sugested in the first post.

Is that what you're asking?

I'm not used to this type of system, so I"m unsure what your latest post means.

I probably misunderstood you, Larry.

Can you do a System Restore to before the problem turned up?
