Hi all,
My keyboard backlight stopped working and it feels like i tried everything.
The lights of the media bar (between the speakers) are still working.
-I used Fn + Z. I tried timer, on, off, again and again. nothing
-I went in the BIOS, in Power management, backlight and illumination are ON.
-I tried to reset original settings in the BIOS.
-I updated my BIOS to 2.1
-I went in the Eco Utilities, backlight says ON
-I went in Toshiba Hardware Setup, i didnt find anything there
-I checked for new drivers on Toshiba support. Found new Eco utility, new HWSetup, new diagnostic, new Patchfile. -I installed them all. no change in options, no change on the backlight
-I removed the battery, unplugged and rebooted
Anything else i could try?
Thanks

When was it last working? Did you change anything?

Can't think of anything i changed no... It was working a couple of weeks ago. The only thing that could have change is some windows update (running win7 x64).
I installed WINRAR software, but i cant imagine that has anything to do with it. Nothing else.

What's your full model number? There should be a second part, for example, P750-ST4N01.

That's either not a valid model number or it's not a US model.
I don't think installing WINRAR would change anything. It's possible with the Windows update. I would recommend you reinstall TVAP (Toshiba Value Added Package), but I don't have a link to your downloads.

Satellite P750-04S (PSAY3C-04S010)
Evelyne, you'll find everything for that model here.
There are two versions of the Value Added Package. Can't hurt to try them both.
If you haven't, can't hurt to reset the computer too. With the battery and AC adapter removed, close the Power switch for 30 seconds. Re-attach those, press the Power button to turn the computer on, and then immediately press the F2 key while the Toshiba logo is displayed. Press F9 to restore the BIOS default settings, press F10, and then select Yes (Exit Saving Changes). The computer will restart.
