SYNAPTICS TOUCHPAD v7.2

I reinstalled and checked for viruses and all is clear on my Toshiba C655D-S5120 Laptop.  I have the tapping function unchecked since I do not like this function.  Sometimes the touchpad will become over taken and it becomes a tap function and when I touch the touchpad the pointer jumps to the high right side of my display screen.  I have to shutdown, and restart computer to make it stop doing this, and then for some reason it will start again at some other time doing the same thing.  Any ideas to stop this unwanted action?

Have you tried reinstalling the latest touchpad drivers?

It is version 15.0.8.1 in control panel programs; however in control panel mouse it says V7.2, and it will still do this strange behavior every now and then.

Sometimes just reinstalling the driver can help. Try downloading the one I linked and installing it even though it's the same version.

Forum threads don't get deleted for being old, so it should still be here.
