Locked keyboard

[ Edited ]

My daughter has locked my keyboard on my laptop for the second time and I don't remember how to unlock it again.  Does anyone know the sequence of buttons I will need to press in order to avoid having to put the laptop in the shop for a small problem?  Thank you.

PS
The scoll pad works just the keys don't.  There are two lights above the letters on the keyboard that are highlighted as well.   I know it's something simple to unlock the keys but can't remember it worth nothing.

Re: Locked keyboard

Sounds like Windows is hung up. Press and hold the power-on button until the laptop turns off and then reboot.

Which computer? Which Windows?

Re: Locked keyboard

Try rebooting the system. If it doesn't help, goto Start -> Control Panel -> Accessibility Options - Make sure all the 3 boxes are unchecked.

Re: Locked keyboard

I have a Satellite C675D and this has happened to me several times too -- I even returned a laptop to the store and got another one! Calls to Toshiba support also kept telling me to reboot in safe mode or rebuild!!

The answer is NOT THAT DIFFICULT -- I found the following posting http://www.ehow.com/how_7246995_unlock-touchpad-toshiba.html .....And, although my PC is not a touchpad, hitting ALT alone seemed to work for me the time I tried it, but ALT +F9 works as well!

I'm very surprised Toshiba Support didn't suggest this simple fix!!

Your link has to do with the touchpad - not the keyboard.

You can find out everything about Fn + F9 in the section Disabling or enabling the touch pad on p. 84 of your User's Guide.
