What's the full model number? "A11" is only partial. There should be a sticker on the bottom.

Peter,
The model is A11-SP5011M
Hope that you can help me
Thanks

Toggling the touchpad by holding FN and pressing F9 shouldn't do anything to the pointer.

Peter,
Fn+F9 disables both of them, touchpad and accupoint.

Joe, I notice your ALPS driver is for both Windows 7 and XP. Possibly, this still applies.

Sorry about the misinformation, but I'm glad Jerry got it working for you. On the Protege I'm using here, Fn+F9 disables only the touchpad.

Oh God, you just saved my life! Truly, the touchpad was really driving me nuts. The fn+F9 solution worked for me. It helped to know that I could use it to toggle the touchpad off and on in case I didn't have my mouse with me and needed to use it temporarily.
