cursor will not move

Cursor will not move when Toshiba Satellite C650 is turned on - (laptop is plugged into the wall, not on battery) I've had this laptop for almost two years and never had any problems with it.

We need your full model name/number like Satellite C650-BT2N11. Also, if yours is not a USA model we need your model's part number like PSC08U-03G01E. Look on the Toshiba label on the bottom of your computer. We do NOT need your serial number.

But, first try pressing the Fn + F9 keys together, this allows you to enable and disable your touchpad, make sure it is enabled.

If this doesn't work, then let's try a system reset and see if this brings your touchpad back. Power off the laptop, unplug the AC from the unit, remove the battery, press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds, replace the battery and AC, power on, as soon as you see the Toshiba logo, press the 'F2' key to enter the BIOS Setup, in setup press 'F9' to load setup defaults, press 'F10' to save and exit, and then boot into Windows. Try the touchpad operation again, you may need to also press Fn+F9 to enable the touchpad.

Please let us know what happens. If this doesn't work, get back to us with your system info. Good luck.

Re: cursor will not move

Mike meant FN+F9 to toggle the TouchPad.

On the Satellite C600 series, in the Bios, under the Advanced->System Configuration settings is an Internal Pointing Device setting. Make sure it is Enabled.
