My "Built" (Toshiba had to build it) laptop is a year old last month. Around that time I started to get the common windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause" Error. Plus I even got the blue screen a few times. It only happened randomly last month and I let it run through its fix mode and it wanted to restore so I ran restore. I also made sure I had all windows updates. One time, after I did try the system restore I chose the option to not restore it and the laptop just hung there searching for a problem. I left it up like that for a few hours then I just finally rebooted it manually because it wouldn't let me close out the searching for a problem scan. This still didn't fix the problem. Now the problem is becoming more common. This is not a heavily used laptop as it can go a few days without even being turned on. I did buy the disks so I have them.
The thing is, if I just select to start windows normally, without trying to fix why it didn't start up normally, windows starts up fine.
Any and all ideas would be appreciated.
