Wanting to remove user password at start up.

I have a satellite l555d-s7930. I setup a user password that must be entered to get to get to windows. How do I remove it?

Windows passwords are easily reset.

Haven't forgotten it; I just don't want the system to ask for the password when I am booting up. I have the password & can go in and change it. I would just prefer to remove it altogether.

Go to User Accounts, then click on change your Windows password. You will see remove your password, click on that.

No need to remove it. Follow these instructions.

Press WindowsKey + R to bring up the Run box. Put this in.

   control userpasswords2

Uncheck the item indicated below.

Thanks but this is not a windows password. It is a hdd user password - pre-windows.

Re: Wanting to remove user password at start up.

Remove the BIOS' User Password in Toshiba Assist.

Start > All Programs > Toshiba > Utilities, > Toshiba Assist

On the Secure tab, click the User Password icon, then Not Registered, and follow instructions on the screen.

It's on p. 150 of your User's Guide.

All sorts of other interesting tips in there too.

Re: Wanting to remove user password at start up, Bios Password.

Jerry's answer worked perfectly for User and Supervisor password in Bios. However I also had a HDD/SSD password and to change this go into Bios and go to HDD/SSD password change. Put in your current password and when it asks for your new password just leave it blank. Hit enter and when it asks for it again leave it blank and hit enter.  When you restart it should not ask for any passwords from bios setup.  Hope this helps.

Thanks to Jerry.
