Toshiba Satellite S50-A Wont Boot Power LED Lit

Alright i just got my girlfirend a toshiba satellite S50-A. It worked all fine and dandy untill tonight after trying to turn it on she complained that it wouldn't.

On further observation I discovered that the power LED is turned on, which leads me to beleive the computer is powered on. But it is completely unresponsive. I have tried connecting a charger and the"I am now charging" LED WILL NOT light up.

I would like to attempt to pull the battery out but this model has a built in battery so in order to do so i would have to dissassemble it. Which normally wouldn't be a problem for me but since the LED for power is turned on I dont want to remove any hardware from the device at the risk of destroying anything.

It is BRAND new. Just got shipped to us last week,

Re: Toshiba Satellite S50-A Wont Boot Power LED Lit

Fixed the problem my self. Turns out the back on this model actually comes off so it is REALLY easy to get to the motherboard, onboard battery, ram ect.

Fix Solution:
Disconnect Internal Battery for 30 seconds

Re: Toshiba Satellite S50-A Wont Boot Power LED Lit

Could you please post some pictures of how to take the back off and what the insides and battery looks like, also how you remove the battery. Others like me are very curious about the new built-in battery and how to get to it and change or remove it, many questions have been posted on internet about this and i have not seen any good answers.

Re: Toshiba Satellite S50-A Wont Boot Power LED Lit

A similar problem with mine. Will not boot but mine has two LEDs lit. The "I'm on" and "plugged in and charging" is lit regardless of whether or not it is plugged in. It is less than a month old and they are making me pay to ship it to a repair center. Not happy.

Hi! Have you tried to disconnect the battery like the OP suggested??
