Broken Hard Drive?

Hello, recently my laptop broke and I thought that it was my hard drive and I wan to make sure it is my hard drive. Anyways when I open the laptop it would just freeze at the start up and make a RRRRRRRRRRRRR sound. Then in a couple of minutes it would say Boot Failed  P1-TOSHIBA MK6476GSXN then again Boot Failed P4-OPTIARC DVD RW AD-7713H then again Boot Failed FDD. I just want to know whats the problem with it and how can I fix it in a not so expendsive way. Thank you

Re: Broken Hard Drive?

You may want to attempt a recovery to ensure it's not a software issue of some sort. Information can be found starting at the bottom of page 61 of your user's guide. Hold '0' (zero) while booting to begin the procedure.

If the recovery doesn't work, you can contact customer support at (800) 457-7777.
